Eco-friendly washing without detergents with Washing Balls
The textile industry is one of the most environmentally damaging because, especially in the washing stage, it consumes large amounts of water and electricity and uses chemical additives with high polluting power. For quite some time, in Feel Blue we have been implementing some systems for Reduce the environmental impact of washing, in particular:
From 2021 we also use the Washing Ball, spheres with 99.9 percent pure silver that enable the wash the yarns with cold water, using cycles of maximum 4 minutes, without adding soaps, follants or chemical acidifiers. To the Washing Balls we also add the Brushing Ball to perform the finishing in a single wash. In this way we are able to save about 70% water e 85 percent energy. It sounds unbelievable, but the result is flawless.
How Washing Balls Work
They increase the cleaning power of water
Once introduced into the washing machine, the Washing Balls spin continuously in the water and induce a fast change of magnetic fields. The water, thus “bombarded” and in constant motion, breaks down the limestone molecules and originates aragonite crystals. These remain in suspension and are removed by the same flow of water, while a new bicarbonate molecule (NaHCO3) is formed that stabilizes the PH of the water and gives it an increased cleaning power.
They carry out a bactericidal action
Washing Balls contain. silver ions (Ag+) whose antibacterial and biocidal action has been known since ancient times, so much so that the Romans used to put pieces of silver inside liquid containers to preserve them longer. Silver ions, in fact, are capable of irreversibly damaging the key system of enzymes in the membrane of pathogens. The use of Washing Balls, therefore, also enables us to achieve a disinfectant and sanitizing action cold and without chemical additives.
They purify water and allow it to be reused
Washing balls also act as biological filter: they purify water already used in washing and allow us to reuse it numerous times, further lowering consumption. The purification occurs by natural decomposition of materials released in the wash from which bacterial colonies originate that feed on all the processing residues. This is a really important action because these residues are often not intercepted by traditional filters and become the main pollutant sediment in our seas.
