Weaving New Opportunities: the Feel Blue Tailoring project expands to the district of Hazaribag

For the past five years, Feel Blue Tailoring has been much more than a project for us.
It’s a tangible way to weave together creativity, education, and independence, supporting women’s empowerment across India.
After the first training worshops launched in the Tamil Nadu region in 2019, in collaboration with Please Sound Onlus and the DHAN Foundation, the project has continued to grow. Between July and September 2025, it reached new territories and new people—now involving over 160 women in total.
In the last quarter, new workshops were opened in the villages of Isko, Bela, and Harli, in the Barkagon block, Hazaribag district, Jharkhand state. Here, thanks to the collaboration with Prince Art and Rural Development Society (PARDS) and Please Sound, the program engaged an additional 20 women through local self-help groups.
Each participant followed a structured training program combining theory and practice: how to use sewing machines, cut and measure fabrics, create patterns, and assemble garments. To support the expansion of the workshops, we also provided five new sewing machines, one pico machine, and one fabric-cutting machine, increasing both training and production capacity.
The response has been remarkably encouraging. Many women have already started working independently or in small cooperatives, producing clothing and accessories for their families and for the local market.
Feel Blue Tailoring is part of our broader commitment to building a fairer and more sustainable future, one that continues to generate human, social, and creative value over time.
This, too, is KNITTITUDE.
